We always hear, "get a good nights sleep". But why? Sleep is important because it enables the body to repair and be fit and ready for another day. Poor sleep is linked to physical problems such as a weakened immune system and mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. Sleep also has links to several brain functions, including: concentration,
productivity, and cognition. All things we need to "function".
I've been working on sleeping better. Is that a thing? Can you really "work" on your sleep habits? Well, for me, I've been taking steps to get my good nights sleep and have found that it does prove for a better start to my day.
I slowly started to add in some meditation for a few minutes prior, sometimes just 5min is what I do. I have the Peloton App and use their meditation classes with their workout collections. There are plenty of other free apps out there as well.
I also have started reading to wind down my day as I lay in bed. This helps clear my head and relax me.
The last thing I decided to do was focus on my pillow!! I know many friends and family who have the "my pillow" and swear by it, but I went online and decided to go with the WonderSleep pillow I researched on Amazon. I love it! Plus, it's under $23. I have had it since July 2020 and I do think it is contributing to my better sleep.
So check it out or definitely search for your pillow.. it has been a sleep-saver!
Wishing you a good night's sleep!
