Whatcha reading?

Setting aside time for myself each week to do something that is relaxing and helps me unwind is not selfish. We all need a way to practice self-care. One way for me is taking this

time at night. I crawl into bed and get comfy and pull out a book. I was never an "reader" until I met my husband. He was an avid reader and would re-read books all the time.

He would tell me, "it's like re-watching a movie. You catch things you didn't see or realize the first time around". Not sure I'm there as a reader. I don't think I've re-read a book just yet, but will not say it will never happen.

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is currently what I'm reading (In love we find out who we want to be. In war we find out who we are).

I received many recommendations that this was to be the next book I read. So far, I'm in it. I like the way she writes and is telling this story of two sisters finding their way in France, during World War II when the Nazis took control. It has given me a glimpse into the horrific tragedies and trauma of war and the important role of women in that war. I'm looking forward to seeing where this book takes me by the end.

Let me know what you are reading or what I should add to my book list. Summer is coming...
